ADI-IS is a service company, incorporated in Belgium, acting worldwide since 1994 and specialized in refractory ling survey of hot blast air circuit of blast furnace cowpers. ADI-IS performs inspections in real time using high temperature endoscopy and infrared thermography techniques.


ADI offers the following technologies to steel companies for conducting Non Destructive Testing of equipment for identifying various potential failures while the equipment is in operation, brief details of technologies:


THE TECHNOLOGIES


1. ENDOSCOPIC INSPECTION (AT OPERATING TEMPERATURE)


PURPOSE of ENDOSCOPIC SURVEY:


ADI Industrial Services’ technology (ADI-IS for short) allows inspection at OPERATION (HOT) TEMPERATURE of various reactors with CLARITY and ACCURACY in order to check the status of the reactor (hot blast air circuit-stoves-main-bustle pipe in the current offer).


ADI-IS supplies a light and compact air/water cooled equipment, which is introduced in the hot blast stoves while AT OPERATING TEMPERATURE (NO BLAST FURNACE SHUT DOWN REQUIRED!) HOWEVER, for inspection of main pipe, bustle pipe and tuyeres, we’ll perform the job DURING blast furnace shut down


DIGITAL camera allows IMMEDIATE recording and computerization of the pictures taken into the hot blast air circuit.


Best quality is reached when hot blast stoves refractory lining is HOT, we can then take advantage of the radiance of the bricks.


FEASIBILITY STUDY: To be conducted by forwarding to ADI-IS all drawings referring to ALL accesses, openings available starting from INNER DIAMETER 50mm (2") and larger (eventually by drilling the refractory)


2. INFRARED THERMOGRAPHY:


PURPOSE of INFRA RED THERMOGRAPHY (IRT):


Thermography allows seeing variations in temperature. When viewed through a thermal imaging camera, warm objects stand out well against cooler backgrounds. Therefore, by using the proper camera settings and by being careful when capturing the image, metallic structure of stoves can be scanned and problems (hot spots) can be detected. The thermal imaging camera can measure the emitted energy


3. ULTRA SONICS thickness MEASUREMENT of metallic shell:


PURPOSE of ULTRASONIC MEASUREMENT (USM):


Ultrasonic measurement allows to check the thickness of the object under inspection, for example, to monitor pipework corrosion or stove shell.
